I subscribed to Ipsy during March, and so far, I’ve received two bags: March and April. Essentially, you pay $10 and they send you five beauty samples in a super cute bag. I pay for these with my own money, so I promise I’ll be honest. Let’s start with my March bag.
°Coolway Glow Oil Treatment (around $7): I’ve used this a couple times and I really like the way that it makes my hair feel.
Nyx Butter Lipstick in Hunk (5.99 at Ulta): I’ve used this pretty frequently, but more as a stain. It’s more of a pinky, berry color over the purple that the packaging would suggest.
Mary Kay at Play Eye Crayon in Teal Me More (10.00 at marykay.com): Haven’t used this yet, but I tested it out on my hand and liked the color! I plan on using it for a “rock and roll” themed party tonight! Update: I used it and I love the color, but it’s hard to blend and get’s a little messy. Will have to experiment more!
Sky Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels ($7.50 at Skyn Iceland)
Laneige BB Cushion ($34 at Target, sample size): This sample was disappointing. The “light” was too dark for my pale skin and I didn’t totally get the point of this product. Update: I liked this a little bit more once I messed around with it. I used a foundation brush to apply it and used the medium to contour. Stayed on well but made my skin a little “dewier” than I typically like.
I really liked this bag a lot more than my first one. I recommend going onto the website and making sure that you choose what you like and customizing your options. I lovedddd the look of this bag. It’s so cute and beach-y.
Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum (About $11): I liked this product. I haven’t used it on my face yet, but it felt great on the back of my hand.
Hikari Blush in Tango (Valued at $15): This color is described as a bright, matte coral. I’m so excited to try this out! I’ve wanted a new, fun blush and this seems pretty pigmented. The packaging seemed a little cheap, but it happens! Update: You just need that tiniest amount of this blush to pack a punch. Love!
Jo’rel Parker Feminina ($21): Liked this roller perfume! For some reason my bottle says “Classico” but my online bag says “feminina”… hm
Starlooks Satin Finish Lip Gloss (Sample size, maybe $5): A little rose-gold-y for my taste. Not super sticky, but I don’t think I’ll wear it much. Update: Yeah, this isn’t going to happen. It’s orange/gold and looks awful on me.
the Balm Nude Dude Eyeshadow in Fit ($3): A pretty, coppery color. Really pigmented! Update: Loveeee this color, and it goes on gorgeously when applied with a wet eyeshadow brush. Very similar to Urban Decay’s Half Baked or Chopper.
All in all, I really liked April’s bag and was happy with March’s, but I’m super excited to see what I’m going to get in my bag the next couple weeks. Have you ever subscribed to Ipsy, BirchBox, etc.? What are your favorite beauty products?
