Ask yourself a question: What makes you feel like the best version of yourself? What makes you feel most like the truest, most authentic you?
Today’s post is the second of the “Living Your Dreams” Series! This part will focus on passions and how incredibly important they are in your life! I believe that this starts with knowing the passions in your heart and using the steps in this first post.
A lot of people overlook those opening questions. Some figure that if money is coming in, then everything is okay. If they’re making the grades, there’s nothing else to work on. I fully, 100%, think that you should be in love with your life and that everything you do should be helping you pursue your passions.
I was lucky enough to find my passions young. If a career is in your path, create a career for yourself and create one that you will love. These passions may change, but for the time being, all you can do is set goals, push forward, and work for what you want in this moment!
That thing that makes you feel like the best version of yourself, what are you doing to pursue it? For some people, this means travel. Are you saving your money so you can visit somewhere new each year? For others, those passions lie in engineering or photography or working for the Lord or fashion or writing or music or business or politics or nature. Are you doing something every week, every day, to pursue what you love?
Sometimes I’m so busy that I can’t think straight and freak out, but at least I love what I’m doing. I don’t hate my job and I can manage any stress because I’m doing what I love. Whatever you are, be a good one. If you’re an artist, pursue it with everything that you have. A scholar? Work on it daily. There’s nothing holding you back except your fear and insecurity!
Find something that you absolutely love and pursue it with all of your passion. Maybe you love a million things. There’s probably a place where those passions mix and will match. If you love music and worship, write some Christian songs and make a demo album. If you love writing and children, write a book for the children of your family friends. I love to write and somehow managed to wrangle my love for design, fashion, food, and popular culture into this blog.
Live fearlessly, pursue passion, and live your dreams!
