To be honest, I’m not usually one to set New Years Resolutions. But for many reasons, 2015 needs to be different than years before. It’s time to make changes for myself.
New years is the time for new intentions, to manifest dreams and pray big prayers.
1. Do more yoga
How: I won’t go more than two days without spending time on my mat. When I get stressed or overwhelmed, I will add meditation to my practice.
Why: It’s a big dream of mine to eventually become a registered yoga teacher, both to deepen my own practice and the practice of others.
2. Be present.
How: I will focus on today as a gift and leave tomorrow in God’s hand. Let yesterday and tomorrow blend together because the only thing in life that’s certain is change. It’s not “if I do this, I’ll finally be happy.” It’s “I am happy, so I will do this.”

Set your intentions everyday and meditate on making them happen for today only. Live by intention and not by habit, taking each moment as an opportunity to be present and give thanks for what the day brings. Whenever you feel yourself straying, close your eyes and take a deep breath, bringing yourself back to the moment.
3. Stop comparing and judging.
There is no need to compare yourself to others or to judge others for their decisions. You, as yourself, are perfect the way you are. Everyone is a reflection of God, just like you. See that in them.

Likes on pictures don’t matter. The decisions of others don’t matter. Don’t gossip, don’t compare, don’t get jealous. It’s a waste of your time and it’s a waste of your journey. Don’t compare yourself to others or compare them to yourself. Everyone is on their own path to where they want to be. That path may be different and the destination may be too. Celebrate differences and learn from your feelings.
4. Read a book every two weeks.
How: replace Netflix time with reading time.
5. Do something creative everyday.
Blog. Photograph. Design. Draw. Paint. Dance. Do yoga. Collage. Edit. Make music. Write. Craft. Build.

Get inspired. Be inspired. Look for inspiration in everyday. Be a sponge or everything that inspires you.
6. Breathe deeply and sit up straight.

I am ready to release:
So much from 2014. Anxiety and feelings of unworthiness and undeserving. Confusion and betrayal. It’s time to let go of everything that doesn’t serve me. The getting angry and frustrated with things that are out of control and taking it out on those around me. The putting myself down and judging others. The jealousy and obsession with the future. It all needs to go.

How did God know that I needed to hear to stop being so hard on myself? How did the pinched nerve in my shoulder come at a time when I need to be told to relax? How did He know right when I needed to hear it and take time for myself again?
